Maddock Toys News

There's always lots of interesting things happening in Cliff Maddock's 'World of Toys'!

Toyfair Scene
Cliff Maddock is involved (with colleague John Willcocks, trading as Big Southern Promotions) in the promotion of a series of fairs in the south of England, comprising the following events:

(1) A trains-only fair of up to 120 tables, with exhibition layouts, at Court Moor School, Fleet, Hampshire.(Castle Street, Farnham Road)   The next event will be held on Saturday 13th. December 2008.

(2) A quarterly friendly evening general fair at Petersfield, Hampshire (Festival Hall), the next event being on Wednesday 21st. January 2009.   This has developed into one of the best evening fairs in the South of England.

Big Southern Vintage rolls on to ever greater heights!
The above fairs are in addition to the well established vintage-only Reading Vintage Toyfair, which is held twice-yearly. This fair is now in its eighteenth year and can justifiably claim to be perhaps the best vintage fair in the world.    The event is held at The Rivermead Leisure Centre on Reading's Thames-side riverbank.  Over 150 stalls are regularly booked, but enquiries from new stallholders are still welcome.  The event is also noted for the variety of exhibitions which are also on display (working models, static displays, etc.). Spare parts for many old toys are also usually available.  The next event will be held on Sunday 22nd. February 2009

The Thames Valley Group
..... of the Hornby Railway Collectors' Association meets on the second Wednesday evening of each month, mainly at Mortimer, Berkshire. (Members only).  Future dates are to be found on the Fairs Diary page.
.... I also promote occasional meetings purely for the enjoyment of Binns Road products. Please contact me for further information if you are a Hornby 'purist' and would like to enjoy Hornby amongst fellow enthusiasts.
